Ketamine-assisted integrative therapy has been found to help with depression, PTSD, addiction, life transitions, and more. It is a highly transformational and self-reflective process. While many clinics offer ketamine IV drips, Ocotillo Center for Integrative Medicine provides ketamine with the powerful addition of guided support and healing modalities, in the context of ketamine-assisted integrative therapy. The journey is uniquely yours but we will be with you and supporting you along with way.
About Ketamine
Ketamine is an “off-label” treatment for various chronic “treatment-resistant” mental health conditions. It is a Schedule III medication that has long been used safely as an anesthetic and analgesic agent and is now used for treatment of depression, alcoholism, substance dependencies, PTSD, and other psychiatric diagnoses as well as for existential, psychological, and spiritual crises and growth.
Ketamine is classified as a dissociative anesthetic (dissociation meaning a sense of disconnection from one’s ordinary reality and usual sense of self.) At the doses administered to you, you will most likely experience mild anesthetic, anxiolytic, antidepressant, and, possibly, psychedelic effects. When paired with therapeutic support and processing, it can be possible to view life circumstances from new perspectives, connect to emotions, and open up to new possibilities.
What to Expect
Intake
We do an initial intake evaluation to get to know you and ensure you are a good fit for Ketamine Assisted Integrative Therapy. Information about what to expect and how to prepare is provided.
Sessions
Most clients find 4-6 sessions to be ultimately beneficial, though some will find sufficient help from 3 sessions. Each session involves a time for talking about intentions and getting comfortable prior to the Ketamine being administered. The expanded state of Ketamine lasts 1-1.5 hours. Your facilitator is with you throughout the process and am available to talk and process before, during, and after the expanded state time.
Integration
Integration is a unique and individual process, as the ripple effects of Ketamine Assisted Integrative Therapy sessions become more understood in your life. You may find talking, journaling, or doing art in your own time to be helpful in the days and weeks after your sessions. For those who would like support through integration therapy sessions, we offer individual integration sessions as well as optional integration add-on sessions that can provide deeper integration support in-between or after your Ketamine sessions.
